What producer responsibility organisations do and how Pincvision supports your compliance

Under Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) legislation, your organization is legally responsible for the environmental impact of products and packaging you place on the market, particularly during the post-consumer waste phase. To fulfill this obligation without managing recycling infrastructure yourself, you join a Producer Responsibility Organisation (PRO).

What a PRO does

A PRO is an official, accredited organization that handles recycling and waste management on behalf of obligated companies. Instead of every company building its own collection and sorting systems, you pay an eco-contribution fee to the PRO based on the weight, volume, and materials of the packaging or products you sell. The PRO then uses those funds to collect, sort, and recycle the waste, satisfying your legal duties.

PROs manage four core responsibilities: funding recycling infrastructure; meeting national government recycling targets; educating consumers on proper waste sorting; and reporting aggregated sales data to government ministries.

PRO names vary by country

While PRO is the standard international term, different EU countries use local names for these compliance bodies:

How Pincvision supports your PRO compliance

Raw company data from your systems like Oracle or SAP is rarely formatted to match PRO submission requirements, and every country has different rules. Pincvision acts as the bridge between your organization and international PROs.

We help your business in three ways:

  • Finding the right PRO: We analyze your product types, packaging materials, and supply chains to identify and register you with the correct PRO in each country where you sell.
  • Fixing and formatting data: We extract raw sales data from your systems, clean it up, and convert it into the precise formats required by each PRO.
  • Managing submissions and deadlines: We handle all ongoing reporting deadlines, file multi-country declarations, and prevent overpayment, penalties, and compliance gaps.

By combining Pincvision's data management with the physical recycling work of local PROs, your company stays compliant across multiple countries without extra effort.

Our specialists can help you assess your environmental compliance obligations and the PRO registration process across your markets.
