Spain's eInvoicing mandate is approaching. Is your ERP setup ready?

If your organization operates in Spain, upcoming eInvoicing requirements may affect your ERP systems, invoice data, reporting processes and daily operations.

The challenge? Adapting your existing processes and systems to meet Spain's requirements, while keeping your wider eInvoicing processes manageable.

Preparation requires more than exchanging structured invoices. Spain introduces invoice lifecycle reporting and requires connectivity with the Spanish tax authority (AEAT). Existing obligations such as SII and the future VeriFactu obligation may also need consideration.

Pincvision can support this entire process. Our VAT specialists and NORA eInvoicing platform help you connect regulatory requirements with practical, day-to-day transaction processing. With our combination of implementation support, automated data validations and specialist VAT and eInvoicing expertise, we help you move from preparation to compliant daily transaction processing within one scalable setup.

Our approach is flexible. We can also support specific parts of your eInvoicing process, depending on your existing systems, resources and requirements.

Deadlines and scope

Spain is introducing mandatory B2B eInvoicing and invoice status reporting in phases.

The mandate covers issuing and receiving structured electronic invoices, with additional requirements for communicating invoice and payment statuses. Transitional requirements also apply.

Does Spain's mandate apply to your organization?

The scope depends on Spanish invoicing obligations and the transactions involved, including whether the recipient acts as a business or professional established in Spain. Non-resident suppliers may also be affected when they are required to issue invoices under Spanish invoicing rules.

Not sure which obligations apply? Our VAT specialists help determine your scope and identify the invoice flows, data and systems that require attention.

How Pincvision supports your Spanish eInvoicing implementation

From assessing your obligations to processing transactions after go-live, Pincvision combines regulatory expertise, technology and ongoing operational support.

  1. Know exactly which Spanish requirements apply to you
Not sure how Crea y Crece, SII or VeriFactu affect your organization? Our VAT specialists help you identify the relevant obligations, transactions and reporting requirements.
  2. Find the gaps in your current setup before they become problems
Can your current systems handle Spain's invoice formats, reporting flows and lifecycle statuses? We review your existing invoice flows, data availability and technical requirements, including formats, connectivity, AEAT reporting and lifecycle statuses. Identifying gaps early helps reduce avoidable errors after go-live.
  3. Connect your existing systems to Spain's eInvoicing requirements
You don't necessarily need to make changes to your ERP. We configure and connect NORA to your existing systems to support the required invoice exchange and reporting flows. Our implementation specialists translate the Spanish requirements into a practical setup.
  4. Stay in control of your eInvoicing processes after go-live
Compliance doesn't end with implementation. NORA provides visibility into transaction statuses, validation errors and exceptions. Your team can resolve straightforward issues directly in the platform. For more complex or recurring issues, our specialists help investigate the cause and improve the process.

The result: a compliant, manageable setup with less manual intervention and support beyond go-live.

What makes Spain's eInvoicing requirements different?

Spain introduces several requirements that can affect your existing invoicing processes and technical setup.

Businesses can exchange structured invoices through the public AEAT platform or private eInvoicing platforms.

Supported formats include UBL, UN/CEFACT CII, Facturae and EDIFACT.

When using private platforms, a faithful copy of the invoice must also be submitted to AEAT in UBL format. Additional technical requirements, including electronic signatures in applicable scenarios, must be considered.

Spain requires businesses in scope to communicate prescribed invoice and payment statuses, including acceptance, rejection and full payment, where applicable.

This requires reliable status data and processes to capture and communicate the information through the correct channels. We help you implement these flows through NORA and manage the related transactions after go-live.

Crea y Crece, SII and VeriFactu

Spain has several digital invoicing and tax compliance regimes, each with different objectives.

Regulation

Main requirement

Crea y Crece

Mandatory B2B electronic invoice exchange and invoice lifecycle reporting

SII (Suministro Inmediato de Información)

Electronic reporting of VAT records to the Spanish tax authority

VeriFactu

Requirements for compliant invoicing software and invoice record integrity

Depending on your activities, more than one regime may apply. We help you understand the combined impact and determine how the relevant obligations fit into your existing processes and systems.

Already using an eInvoicing solution in other countries?

Spain introduces additional requirements that your current eInvoicing setup may not support. With NORA, you can implement Spain while keeping your existing ERP systems in place. You can start with Spain and expand to other countries, or bring multiple countries together on one platform. This helps you avoid separate country-specific solutions and makes ongoing eInvoicing and eReporting compliance easier to manage.

Frequently asked questions about Spain eInvoicing

  • When does mandatory B2B eInvoicing start in Spain?
Mandatory B2B eInvoicing starts on 6 October 2027 for businesses and professionals with annual turnover above €8 million. All remaining businesses and professionals in scope must comply from 6 October 2028. Invoice status and payment reporting obligations are phased in separately, with certain categories becoming subject to these requirements from 6 October 2029.
  • Does Spain's eInvoicing mandate apply to foreign companies?
Yes, potentially. Non-resident businesses may fall within the mandate if they are required to issue invoices under Spanish invoicing regulations and the customer is a resident business. Having a Spanish establishment is not necessarily required.
  • Can we use NORA alongside our existing ERP systems?
Yes. NORA connects with your existing ERP systems, allowing you to implement Spain's eInvoicing requirements without replacing your core systems. If you already use an eInvoicing provider in other countries, Pincvision can help you determine how NORA fits into your current setup and supports your wider international rollout.
  • Is invoice status reporting mandatory in Spain?
Yes. Buyers must report mandatory invoice lifecycle statuses, including accepted, rejected and fully paid, to the supplier and AEAT. Businesses therefore need to prepare processes for managing this information alongside electronic invoice exchange.
  • What is the difference between Crea y Crece, SII and VeriFactu?
Crea y Crece introduces mandatory B2B electronic invoicing and invoice status reporting. SII requires eligible businesses to electronically report VAT records. VeriFactu concerns invoicing software compliance and invoice record integrity. Depending on their activities and obligations, businesses may need to comply with multiple regimes.
  • How can Pincvision help with Spain eInvoicing?
Pincvision helps international organizations assess their Spanish eInvoicing and eReporting obligations, prepare invoice data, implement a suitable solution through NORA and manage ongoing transaction processing. Our VAT specialists and implementation team support both regulatory compliance and daily operations.
