SONCAP (Nigeria)

The Standards Organisation of Nigeria (SON) has implemented a set of guidelines for exports to Nigeria called the Standards Organisation of Nigeria Conformity Assessment Programme (SONCAP). This verifies the conformity of all products that are exported to Nigeria. Complying with the SONCAP requirements is additional to the existing import processes.

To be sure of a fast customs clearance process of your goods, each of your Nigeria shipments must be provided with a SONCAP certificate. How to request a SONCAP certificate?

In order to obtain a SONCAP Certificate, please provide us with your (commercial) invoice and the Form M. The Form M is a document requested locally in Nigeria by your importer. The Form M is provided by the central Bank in Nigeria and the importer can obtain this in the Single Window Portal of the Federal Government of Nigeria.

Our team of specialists will take care of the rest for you. They will issue the certificate and arrange the accreditation by the certified body. Once approved, we will send you a copy of the digital exporter certificate, which can be used by the importer to retrieve the original locally.
