WEEE Open scope in Italy

As more and more countries are implementing the new categories of the WEEE open scope it becomes clearer what kind of products will now fall under the scope of the directive.

In Italy the Comitato di vigilanza e controllo (CVC), the supervisory authority for WEEE, has provided some clear examples of products that will, contrary to the past, now need to be classified as WEEE. These examples range from power banks and USB sticks to electronic gas meters and video surveillance systems.

As producer of any of these goods you might be confronted with obligations under the WEEE directive from August 15 onwards. It is therefore important to research now if your products will be in scope after August 15.
