As of January 1, 2026, Belgium moves into the era of Continuous Transaction Controls (CTC): almost all companies established and registered for VAT in Belgium, including foreign entities with a permanent establishment, will be required to exchange structured eInvoices (via Peppol/UBL).
From 2028 onwards, mandatory eReporting will further extend compliance obligations. For multinationals, this requires timely adjustments in ERP/AP landscapes, interoperability frameworks and alignment with the 4-corner model.
