Update: SASO Tightens Rules for Communication and IT Devices

Earlier, we highlighted the introduction of new SASO rules for communication and IT equipment.

Following our update on the new SASO regulation for IT and communication devices (read here), Saudi authorities have now introduced additional requirements that impact importers and manufacturers.

SASO has recently added more HS codes to the scope of the regulation. For these products, you are now required to submit a specific Declaration of Conformity (DoC) when applying for a Shipment Certificate (SC) via the SABER portal.

Important: This DoC must be approved by the Saudi Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources (MIMR). Without this approval, it will not be possible to obtain the Shipment Certificate – meaning your goods cannot legally enter Saudi Arabia.

In addition, random inspections will be carried out on incoming shipments. Any violations of SASO regulations may result in delays, penalties, or refusal of entry.

Below, you’ll find the updated list of products and their related HS codes. Make sure your goods are correctly classified and compliant before shipping.
