The Swiss referendum vote results for a VAT rate increase was 55,1% YES and 44,9% NO.

The VAT rate change is expected for January 1, 2024.

New rates:

- Standard VAT rate increases from 7.7% to 8.1%

- Reduced rate increases from 2.5% to 2.6%

- Special rate for accommodation increases from 3.7% to 3.8%.

The main reason behind this change is the reform of the Swiss pension system.
