Slovenia WEEE Open Scope introduction in 2019

Slovenia has joined the ranks of European countries to postpone the full implementation of the WEEE open scope to January 2019.

Last week a draft amendment to the WEEE legislation was released for public consultation. According to this amendment all reporting in Slovenia in 2018 will still be done based on the old 10 categories.

Individually complying producers, compliance schemes and authorized representatives in Slovenia are also faced with a new requirement as a result of this amendment.

These parties will all need to re-register with the Environmental Agency before the end of the year. This registration needs to include information on the EEE that these parties put on the market, divided into the 6 categories of the WEEE open scope.
