Product conformity news Ivory Coast update

As known, the Republic of Côte d'Ivoire will implement a Verification of Conformity program. It was anticipated that all goods with a shipment date on or after April 16, 2018 require a Certificate of Conformity (CoC) that demonstrates compliance of the goods with approved standards.

The Ministry of Commerce has, however, informed a revised starting date, and it is now expected that the program applies to all goods with a shipment date on or after July 16, 2018.

Until that date, a CoC won’t be a mandatory document to be presented when clearing goods in Côte d'Ivoire, however, it may facilitate a quicker customs clearing process.

For more information on the Verification of Conformity program - which also applies to voluntary use of the program in the coming months - please refer to this Data Sheet. Don’t hesitate to contact SGS in case of any questions. You can send an e-mail or call +31 181 69 3950.
