Following the Dutch government plan to combat the rising cost of living in the Netherlands, it has been announced that the VAT rate om energy will be lowered to 9% as from July 1, 2022.

In principle this will be for a period of 6 months. In addition the plan is to lower the excise duties on petrol as from April 1, 2022 with 21%. This means lower excise duties on fuel by 17 cents per litre of petrol and 11 cents per litre of diesel.

This measure will most likely last until the end of 2022.
