Blog| Extra update - Introduction DMS 4.0 Import postponed

As most declarants who have to deal with DMS have already read through reports from Customs and interest groups, the introduction of DMS 4.0 Import is postponed.

Consequences for the DMS timetable

This also moves the schedule for the further rollout of DMS and Customs has indicated that the end date of June 30, 2023 is no longer feasible. At the moment the major uncertainties for business are: when will a new DMS schedule be issued for the full migration to DMS? And then, what does that planning look like and what consequences does it have for the individual declarant?

In the meantime, we advise businesses not to sit still. In fact, does your company already have some delay in the preparation? Then you might be able to catch up a bit. After all, the specifications have been published and software suppliers can prepare the integration with their internal systems together with the declarants.

There is also some more time to see whether the current software solution still suits your business processes and your vision on customs clearance. It is now time to make integration successful and to use current technologies and expertise in the right way. The range of expertise in the labor market is limited, so automation and collaboration with specialists is the only real solution.
