We have informed you about the planned introduction of the VAT reverse charge in the construction sector in the UK in our article 'New construction reverse charge for VAT in the UK'. Following a brief published last week, the introduction will be delayed with one year.
The delay follows the concerns raised by some businesses about timing and this will provide them more time to prepare the introduction of the reverse charge. This will also avoid the changes coinciding with Brexit. The rule will now be delayed until October 1, 2020.
