Change in French EORI Format

The French tax authority is changing the format of the EORI number from SIRET to SIREN, which means that as from 2026 the French EORI numbers that are not in the SIREN format will no longer be valid.

For companies based in France your EORI will need to be FR plus 9 digits (SIREN). The SIRET is 14 digits, so if your EORI is FR plus 14 digits you need to ask for an update.

For companies established outside the EU the EORI number format is slightly different, as after FR, there will be the two letter country code where the company is actually based. So if the EORI is linked to a SIRET number, the EORI will be FR plus two letter country code where non-EU company is based plus 14 digits (SIRET). When already linked to the SIREN it will be 9 digits instead of 14 and no action is required.
