A farewell to compliance schemes in Slovakia?

The Slovakian Minister of Environment is taking serious steps in moving towards introducing a centralized agency, essentially replacing the compliance schemes.

As seen in Poland and Portugal there is a movement to integrate national registers. This plan of the Slovakian minister takes this movement one step further by not merely consolidating the registers, but all compliance organizations as well. This plan is very comparable to the current situation in Hungary and a major change for compliance obligations in Slovakia at this moment.

It remains unclear when these plans will be implemented, but it is certain that this will strongly alter how producer responsibility is dealt with in Slovakia.
