Somalia Introduces Strict Penalties For Shipments Without Conformity Certificates

Somali authorities have announced a new regulation that will take effect starting January 1, 2025, introducing significant penalties for shipments arriving in Somalia without a valid Certificate of Conformity (COC) under the Somalia CBCA program.

Consequences

From January 1, 2025, all consignments reaching Somalia without the required Certificate of Conformity will face deterrent penalties. Non-compliance may result in fines or even rejection of shipments upon arrival.

The issuance of a valid Certificate of Conformity will guarantee compliance with Somalia’s CBCA program and prevent delays or complications at the destination.
