Saudi Arabia introduces new SASO standard for ICT equipment from November 2026

The Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality Organization (SASO) has published a new technical standard, SASO 3114/2026, which will replace the current SASO-CITC-GEN-002 requirements for specific ICT products.

To give manufacturers, exporters, and importers time to prepare, SASO has introduced a transition period that runs until October 31, 2026.

What changes on November 1, 2026?

From November 1, 2026, affected ICT products must comply with the new SASO 3114/2026 standard in order to obtain:

• Product Certificates of Conformity (PCoC)
• Certificates of Conformity for Shipment (CoC-CST)
• Shipment Certificates of Conformity (SCoC)

Without compliance with the new standard, these certificates can no longer be issued for products within scope.

What about existing certificates?

Certificates issued under the current SASO-CITC-GEN-002 requirements remain valid during the transition period. However, these certificates can only be used until March 31, 2027. After that date, products covered by the new standard must be certified under SASO 3114/2026 to continue being exported to Saudi Arabia.
