EUR.1 for Export to Switzerland No Longer Required

Since January 1, 2024, you no longer pay import duties on industrial products when importing into Switzerland, regardless of the products origin. This means you no longer need an EUR.1, EUR-MED certificate, or invoice declaration for these products.

This change aims to reduce costs for importing businesses, boost trade, and lower prices for consumers.

Industrial products have an HS code starting with numbers 25 through 97. Therefore, the origin of the products no longer matters, whether inside or outside the European Union. All these products can be imported into Switzerland without import duties.

Some Exceptions

You still pay import duties in Switzerland for agricultural products with HS codes starting with numbers 1 through 24 and some products with HS codes starting with 35 and 38.

You can find the current list of adjustments here.
