Changes in PCA Program for Cameroon

In Cameroon, L’Agence des Normes et de la Qualité (ANOR) has implemented the Pre-Shipment Evaluation of Conformity (PECAE) program. As a result, all regulated import products must comply with approved national standards or technical regulations, and will require a Certificate of Conformity (CoC).

Most recent update: October 28, 2021

From November 15, 2021 all products will be regulated, except those that are listed in the exempted/restricted list. Shipments of these regulated products will need to obtain the Attestation of Conformity (AoC) from Approved Service Providers.

All Regulated Products included under the scope of Cameroon PECAE shall comply with the Cameroonian Technical Regulations and Mandatory Standards where applicable for facilitating clearance of their Shipments at Cameroonian Ports/Borders. Exporters engaged in trade with Cameroon need to be aware of this important update and to be prepared well in advance. If you need assistance, please contact us to find out how to comply with this new requirement.

Under the PECAE, products to be imported will undergo verification and testing at the country of supply (exporting) and a Certificate of Conformity (CoC) will be issued to demonstrate that the product meets the applicable standards.

Product Conformity Assessment (PCA) Program changes

The Product Conformity Assessment (PCA) Program for Cameroon has been updated as per January 4, 2021. Some of these changes are:

  • Fees will now be invoiced in Euro instead of USD and inspection will be performed with the digital QiiQ app of SGS.
  • Gas cylinders are now classified as sensitive products.
  • Under Route A, a non-batch related certificate of analysis can also be accepted. The details for the applicable conditions can be found on the website of SGS.
