The approval from the EU to start implementing eInvoicing in Belgium is pending.

As indicated in a previous article, Belgium has published a draft law concerning mandatory electronic invoicing for B2B transactions. The timelines as indicated have been shifted.

If adopted, there will be:

a voluntary phase in January 2024
a mandatory start for businesses with a annual turnover of more than 9 million euro on July 1, 2024.
SME’s (Small and Medium Enterprises) to follow on January 1, 2025 with a last phase as from July 1, 2025 for all other taxpayers (whether non residents will be included is not yet clear).
