Poland will not maintain zero VAT rate for basic food products

In February 2022, the Polish government implemented a tax relief strategy aimed at supporting consumers in difficult economic times. This measure introduced a temporary 0% VAT rate on basic food products, specifically identified in positions 1-18 of Annex 10 of the Polish VAT Act.

The Polish Ministry of Finance has recently announced that the temporary 0% rate of VAT on these basic food products will not be extended.

The result:

  • The temporary 0% VAT rate on basic food products will end on March 31, 2024.
  • Starting from April 1, 2024, the VAT rate will revert to 5% for these products.

We understand that such changes can have a significant impact on your business. Our team is here to help you smoothly adapt to these updates. Our VAT expertise and services are designed to help you manage these transitions effortlessly.
