More packaging obligations for Spain

Law 8/2019 is an expansion of the current packaging law in Spain. From now on, the Balearic Islands also have extended producer responsibility. More on that can be read in article 28 of the aforementioned law, which is written down below.

Article 28

Extended producer responsibility systems for packaging waste

• In the area of the Autonomous Community of the Balearic Islands, the extended liability of the producer for packaging waste shall be applicable to all packaged products and shall contain all types of packaging included in Directive 94/62 / EC. relating to packaging and packaging waste, sales or primary, collective or secondary packaging and transport or tertiary packaging, whether of domestic, commercial or industrial generation.
