Italy Implements Mandatory Electronic Invoicing for All Businesses from 2024

Effective January 1, 2024, Italy requires also micro businesses to issue electronic invoices through the Sistema di Interscambio (SdI) system.

This last mandate completes Italy's phased introduction of eInvoicing, aiming to streamline tax compliance and reduce tax evasion. The move necessitates that all businesses, including those previously exempt, integrate the SdI system into their operations. The transition supports Italy's efforts in enhancing digital tax administration. Unprepared businesses are urged to prepare for this change to ensure compliance with the new regulations.
