In order to fulfill this function, the knowledge that is required about Intrastat will be taught to you internally. Your personality and skills are most important to us. It is essential that you like to acquire knowledge and make it your own. The commercial skills are of added value in the customer contact. In this role you are the contact person of the department, i.e. the person who communicates most directly with customers. Therefore it is important that you can communicate easily and professionally.
A day working at the Intrastat department
You enter our beautiful office, start up your laptop and make yourself a cup of coffee. A quick chat with one of your colleagues and then your working day starts. Which international customers are you going to help today to meet their European Statistical Obligations?
Via email or direct contact with the customer you get a clear idea of what needs to be done. You are responsible for maintaining the overview and consult with your team how to tackle this and who will do what. You set out the actions and give feedback in English to the customer.
In the afternoon you have a team meeting about the customers in your area. Together with your team, you will focus on the challenges your customers are facing, for example, in the field of legislation or for obtaining the right data. Some actions you take up individually, other actions will be allocated across your team members. The end of the day is near. With a satisfied feeling you log off. Tomorrow a new day starts again!
Being our Commercial (Intrastat) Specialist you ensure that our customers comply with the European Statistical (Intrastat) obligations (reporting of goods movements between countries in Europe). You are jointly responsible for the accuracy of the content of the Intrastat declarations and the administrative processing thereof. In cooperation with the data analyst, you translate the client's data into obligations.
You have frequent contact with your customers, for whom you are the first point of contact. This includes both questions and advice about Intrastat and the relationship with VAT obligations. You also have regular contact with various authorities.
You work together with your team to achieve the daily set targets and you have a lot of contact with the Sales team about clients. In addition, you take responsibility for planning, quality, monitoring, customer satisfaction and you take the initiative to improve existing processes and the business operations.
Who are you?

Obviously you will be trained by us so that you can become an Intrastat expert and an important link in the contact with our customers in the department.
Furthermore you have
- a minimum of HBO work and thinking level
- a completed HBO education, preferably in a (commercial, legal, economic or business) direction
- good command of the Dutch and English languages, orally and in writing
- excellent knowledge of the Office 365 package
- affinity with IT and the operation of ERP systems.
And it is an advantage if you...
- have broad knowledge in the area of Supply Chain processes
- have work experience in the legal field
- have at least 3 to 5 years of working experience in a customer-facing role.
