EU Commission launches new platform Access2Markets

This month, the European Commission launched the Access2Markets online portal with the aim to help small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) trading with countries outside the EU.

This new portal was created in response to requests from stakeholders to better explain trade agreements and help companies ensure their products are eligible for duty discounts. It's a combined portal of the Market Access Database and the EU Trade Helpdesk in a single tool.

To whom is this online portal intended?

This platform is intended for both companies (mainly SMEs) that are already trading internationally as well as for companies that are only just starting to explore opportunities in foreign markets.

What information can you find in Access2Markets?

Access2Markets enables companies to obtain product specific information in just a few clicks. You'll be able to find detailed information on:

  • Tariffs
  • Rules of origin
  • Product requirements
  • Customs procedures and formalities
  • VAT/excise duties/sales taxes
  • Trade barriers
  • Trade statistics
