UPDATE: Deviating Embassy lead times due to COVID-19
We hereby provide you of an update about the consequences of the measures taken with regard to COVID-19 and the Embassy lead times for the legalization of export documents.
The actual Embassy lead times will deviate from the average lead times as stated at our web page Embassy Legalization Service. The Embassies have limited opening hours, making it more difficult to hand in or collect documents at the various Embassies.
Unfortunately it is not possible to provide an exact lead time per Embassy, but we kindly warn you to take into account possible delays. We have been informed that the Embassy of the United Arab Emirates in The Hague is closed as of Tuesday March 24, 2020 for at least the coming two weeks.
UPDATE April 28, 2020:
- The Embassies still have limited opening hours, making it more difficult to hand in or collect documents at the various Embassies.
- We have been informed that the Embassy of the United Arab Emirates in The Hague is open again, however, they apply a special procedure that will lead to longer lead times.
Inform your importer
We advise you to inform your importer of the situation and to investigate whether it is possible to clear the goods without Embassy legalization, as a relaxation of the legal country requirement.
