Changes to submitting Intrastat declarations as of April 2012

HMRC will be introducing two changes as of April 2012. If you are submitting Intrastat declarations within the UK you will note that the following changes will be introduced.

First of all HMRC are withdrawing paper Intrastat forms. Therefore it is only possible to submit the Intrastat declaration electronically as of April 2012.

The second change will be the deadline of submitting the Intrastat declarations. At this moment it is possible to submit the declaration at the last day of the following month you have EU trade to declare. As of the first of April 2012 the new deadline will be the 21th day of the month following the month you have EU trade to declare.
